Sowing,

For best results sow in the Autumn. This allows the seedlings to become established while the grass is slowing down. A spring sowing is fine, the earlier the better, and there may be more chance of dry conditions which may effect seedling survival rates. For this reason we include cornfield annuals to provide a nurse crop for the more tender native perennials.

Cut grass very short (and remove).  Spread seed 0.5g/m2 and lightly scarify into topsoil. It is sometimes a good idea to save a small amount of seed to spread in the Spring, especially if it's on a steep slope or there is a chance that mice may feed on the seed.
