Wildflower Preservation mix

Directly off the field mix, collected in July, August and September, this mix consists of approximately 80% wildflower & grass seeds from brushing and combining our fields.

The mix consists of over 80% weight of seed of which will have approx 80% fine grasses and 20% seeds.

Typically 32kg will cover 1 acre of bare soil and no more than 8-16 kg are required to be oversown into existing grass.

Autumn sowing is recommended, between August and December, but it can be sown at any time of year.

All seed is native and local in origin and provenance.

Main varieties are Yellow Rattle, Knapweed, Plaintain, Rough Hawkbit, Cat's-ear, Meadow Buttercup, Wild Red Clover, Black Medick, Comon Sorrel, Common Spotted Orchid and, to a lesser extent, Yarrow, Selfheal, Pignut, Forget-me-not, Bird's-foot Trefoil, Lesser Stitchwort, Corky Fruited Water Dropwort and Red Sorrel.

Grasses:  Sweet Vernal Grass, Smooth Meadow Grass, Rough Bent Grass, Yorkshire Fog, Slender Red Fescue.
