Birdsfoot Trefoil - 2.5g

£3.00

This pretty flower opens in a burst of red and orange which is quickly bleached by the sun. This has given it the popular name of 'eggs and bacon'.  It fixes nitrogen in the soil and is a favorite food plant of the Burnett Moth which can be seen flying during the day and easily identified by the bright red spots on its wings. The Birdsfoot Trefoil derives its name from the seeds which form in a set of three pods arranged like the foot of a bird.
