corky fruited water dropwort 4g

£3.00

This is a medium sized white flower found in acidic soils in hay meadows. Flowers from mid June, after the Pignut has gone. Hairless and smooth stem. It is easily mistaken for other umber flowers but is given away by its slender upper pinnate leaves. The flowers form a tight cluster which when set seed, in August, forms a tight cluster of seeds which look like cork, hence the name. This is a member of the carrot family and more specifically the water dropwort. The seed is sown in the autumn in either dry or damp acidic soils and once established will become quite abundant.
